Damn it. I wasn't prepared for it to be this tough. I've trained a lot, but I guess that wasn't enough. Is it always going to be this hard? I dodged another attack by the Rangarimus. I sure hope that my teacher won't let him actually kill me. Then again, this is one of the pack of which we're allies with. Surely he wouldn't risk destroying his pack's relations with our army...

He swiped his long claws at me again, and I failed to dodge this one. He grazed my right shoulder, and it began stinging. A lot. I tried to ignore it and I used my steel vine to pull myself up to a high branch in this forest. I climber onto it and jumped from tree to tree to get above and behind the Rangarimus. From there I jumped off and raised my blades as I came down. My blades were just about to sink into his furry back as time froze and I was gently placed on my feet thanks to the magic from outside the battlefield. The environment around us changed into the Guardian League of Elvendale's main training hall.

Only then I realized that I've proved myself skilled enough, and that I passed. I couldn't believe it. I looked at my teacher. "Did I really make it?" I asked hopefully. My teacher nodded at me.

"Yes. You and some other recruits will meet here at 11am tomorrow. Your coach will be Ms. Turnovang." she explained.

"Thank you, thank you so much!" I said, then I turned to the Rangarimus who was waiting waiting to be dismissed. "Sorry I had to attack you... "

"No hard feelings." he replied. "It is a part of your test, after all."

I nodded. The teacher dismissed us and I went back to the castle, where Arthur and Celeste let me live since I somehow appeared here...

Celeste spotted me in the halls and ran up to me to greet me.

"Did you pass?" She asked eagerly.

"Yeah! Thank you so much for hiring a teacher for me.."

"Oh, don't worry about it! We'll pay for everything you need until our help isn't required - which, it still is, - so we don't mind! Besides, we're friends now, and friends help each other out, no?"

"Awe, thanks, Celeste, but really I don't deserve this." I lowered my head.

"Don't you dare say that! I don't care how people treated you back in your world, or what the special rules are, but in this world, a friend of the royal family requires respect, and deserve anything they desire!" She shook her finger at me, making me laugh. I guess that did make sense, in a way.

"Where's Arthur?" I asked, changing the subject. "I want to share the news with him, too."

"Probably helping out in father's office. I hear something went wrong with the assassin's execution mission. You've heard of the Gaudets by now, right?"

"Um... Actually, no I haven't. Are they really dangerous?" I began worrying. Maybe I wasn't as safe here as I thought?

"Pfft, of course they're dangerous! They're assassins, and they kill."

I shook my head, chuckling once. "Yep, I'm stupid." I said, embarrassed I didn't even bother to think logically for myself.

"It's fine. Anyway, the Gaudets are the worst that Kerliont knows. Chances are they're the worst in all of Forlentia! We recently had a mission to locate a few of them, but one of the generals reported a weird change in one of the squire's loyalty to this mission." She explained.

"Oh? I hope the squire won't start attacking our allies..."

"No, it's not that type of change. It's more like, the only difference is that she won't help locate and execute them."

"Hmm" I thought about it. It was really weird...

"Anyway, father and Arthur are probably talking with the squire's soldier to understand better."

"Okay, thanks. I'll be going now." I said as I began speedwalking to the king's office.
Gosh, I sure didn't write in a while on dA. Okay, so here's a little short story of how I became a soldier of the Guardian League of Elvendale. (GLoE for short) The short story begins when I'm already finishing up my test, soooo yeah. This is around the time when Arthur was 16, I was 14 and Celeste was 12, just so you know.
